Celebrating 10 years of living in Sheffield, one of the key hubs of folk music in the UK, Nancy Kerr and James Fagan are also coming up to their 25th anniversary as a couple and one of the most dynamic and best-loved duos on the scene.
Their extensive repertoire includes ballads, Northumbrian tunes, Australian folk songs and tunes, as well as Nancy’s celebrated original song-writing including Queen of Waters, I Am The Fox, Fragile Water and most recently Fatima’s Lady Macbeth, to name a few. They have a magical chemistry together on stage, and their voices and instruments together sound as full as a band, while retaining the focus and intimacy of a duo. They have won Best Duo twice at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, but more importantly they have made friends and fans across the world through their devotion to great music, their audiences and each other.
They are delighted to be performing live for you via Zoom, as part of a new online concert series curated by Sam Hindley (Live At Sam’s). With a brand new sound system at their disposal, Nancy and James will fill your home with glorious harmonies and songs to uplift your hearts in these troubled times.

    Hi Sam,
I just left my info to purchase tickets to your Nancy and James livestream concert on Nov 29. It’s so great that you’re hating this. COVID-19 is horrible, but being able to see live stream concerts is wonderful. We can’t fly over to catch concerts live.

I am not on Facebook, so I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you how much my husband (Bill) and I enjoy your TGIF program. It’s the best!! We listen from Chatham, NY, USA. We really enjoy the music you choose and your commentary about it.
Lots of times learn a song you’ve played or buy a CD you’ve showcased.
Please stay safe and be well!!

    Dear Sam and James,
My goodness! Thank you both so much for your shout out on TGIF. And thank you for introducing us to Ola Belle Reed….what a treasure. We’ve been listening to her music for the past two days. We’ll sing our way through Covid with “I’ve Endured”!
And as educators we especially enjoy “Fatima’s Lady Macbeth”!! and anything Nancy sings.
    With our very best wishes,
    BJ and Bill

Hello! This will be lovely to hear you both. I am hoping it’s ok that my daughter
(You’ve met her a few times at ceilidhs and the Barlow in Edgeworth, she’s 3 now!) might join for a listen and a dance for a track or two before bed (especially if you play her favourite Dominion of the sword) but I haven’t got her a separate ticket (cheapskate aren’t I!) X

I would love to catch this event but have a previous engagement. If we purchase a ticket will there be a way to go back and watch it later?

Hi Dawn, thanks for your message. We’re unable to say for sure if a recording will be made available but it is a possibility that myself and James are discussing. It will depend a lot on the quality of any recording we could make and wether or not James and Nancy are pleased with the results.
If this is going to be made available I will let you know.
      Kind regards

Being a Brisbane Australia resident, I haven’t seen one of your gigs for a while so I am looking forward to one on online! Sending you and all your UK fans my heartfelt best with the COVID pandemic being so tough. It will pass and in the meantime we all look out for each other and support each other on any way we can. Wonderful for you to share your music as art helps! Mark

      Hi Barbara & Will,

With the time zone differences I did not see your email response in time to pay and view today. Most concerts in the US have been pay when you get there with a link to a “tip jar” or other payment method, so this has been particularly more difficult to keep up with while other life things are going on simultaneously on a US holiday weekend with family Zooms, etc. If there is a way to watch after the fact, please let me know or if there is another live concert….www.valleyfolk.org
