Well I can’t tell you how excited I am about this!

Live at Sams is extremely proud and honoured to announce a very special one-off collaboration evening with Nancy Kerr, James Fagan and Tim Van Eyken as a House Concert

I don’t think I need to introduce you to these 3 wonderful musicians  and simply great folk . I simply had to have Nancy and James involved in our 10th anniversary celebration year.

As well as being  2 of my favourite musicians  they’ve also been some of my closest friends and supporters since moving to Sheffield 10 years ago,  at the  start of Live at Sams.

Nancy and James have played Live at Sams on a number of occasions, in all their various combinations and I’m delighted that they’re coming back .

Tim Van Eyken burst on to the folk scene  in 1998 winning the inaugural BBC Radio 2 young folk award , quickly joining Waterson Carthy shortly after.
This is where I first got to know of him, I went to see the band shortly after discovering the joys of  the folk scene , Tim’s wonderful singing and playing have been a joy and comfort to me since the very beginning of my folk journey.

Nancy James and Tim appeared on record and performed live together regularly around this time , and Nancy joined Tim’s own band  ‘Van Eyken’ in 2006.In 2008 Tim took the role of the original song man in the theatre show ‘ Warhorse’ and going on to pursue a career in acting   with the occasional gig for good measure, including a guest appearance with James and Nancy at Cambridge folk festival 2019  .

It has been a dream of mine to have Tim play in our house  , now he’s living in Sheffield and has time to do some gigs again I’m delighted this is going to happen on Saturday 19th October when Tim, James and Nancy will come together and for you to celebrate with us
